A collection of recent works by artist Serolod. Born in Greece, and currently based in London, Serolod explores the fluidity of perception, the interplay of colour and form, and the juxtaposition between contemporary and traditional mediums. She begins with digitally altered imagery which she then transforms through paint, creating something both controlled and spontaneous.
“A key aspect of my work is the exploration of duality and the interconnectedness of all things. My colour palette draws on “negative” or complementary colours—the opposites of the natural hues our senses are conditioned to recognize. By shifting focus to these often-overlooked colours, I question the nature of perception and reality, revealing how limited and subjective our understanding of the world truly is. This deliberate inversion encourages viewers to think beyond what is immediately visible, hinting at unseen dimensions and alternative ways of experiencing the universe.”
Inspired by Einstein’s theory of general relativity, Serolod’s paintings reflect how the smallest particules and the largest cosmic structures are woven together. For Serolod, everything exists in a state of flux, interconnected and alive. “Reality is Relative” is on display at Almine Rech London until July 26th.
