Apex Predators

An apex predator is a species that sits at the top of the food chain with no natural predators to combat it, the same way lions rule the savannah or orcas rule the sea, police have come to rule the cities, towns, and neighbourhoods we reside in. Just like eagles with their talons or crocodiles with their curved teeth, the police’s unchecked, uncontested power makes them almost impossible to escape once you’re trapped. As threatening as they are, that doesn’t stop us from photographing them, because we are fascinated by these beings that dominate. The difference however, is that we are told that police are there to serve and protect us, and that makes them more dangerous than any animal I have or could mention. This facade that they are keeping us safe is what has led to them becoming the apex predators of the civilized world.
