Dylan Lisle (b. 1978, Darlington, UK) is a figurative painter known for combining traditional indirect oil techniques with a contemporary sensibility.
Exhibited widely, Lisle has held solo shows in London, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen, with group exhibitions in New York, London, Eton, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.
Drawing on fairytales, mythology, and folklore, his paintings evoke a world of mythic ambiguity and otherworldly states. Steeped in chiaroscuro and anatomical precision, his work explores the erosion of reason, the shifting role of visual culture, and what we leave behind.
